Daily Relaxation

So...it is cool here again!!! Yeah! It has rained for the past couple of days, and is now in the lower 80's and we are loving it. We had a great weekend. The Roeckers headed to Utah on Sunday, so we went out on a double date with them on Saturday and had a wonderful time and a great babysitter for the kids. We will definitely miss the Roeckers, they are great people. Then Sunday we had the Kirkhams over for dinner, who leave for California in about a month, and they will also be truly missed. Then tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner, and we always love to have them in our home. Earlier this morning Jacob decide to write on some walls, carpet, dressers, doors, etc. with my mascara. So I got a picture of just a smidgen of the damage, but I shouldn't have taken it after he had been bathed, because he decorated himself with it also. I also decide to take some pictures of what our family does between 2 and 4 each day to get some relaxation. Steve of course is at work, and my relaxation changes often, but the boys is pretty much what you see. What I should have taken a picture of is the 15 watermelon slices that Nathan had for dinner tonight. :)

Pioneer Day

For our Pioneer Day this year we had a BBQ with the Branch. It was suppose to be at a park near our house, but then this horrible rain storm came right when it was suppose to start. So we moved it to the church, and Steve stood out on the front stoop and BBQ'ed chicken for the Branch with his new grill in his wet clothes. The other picture of Pioneer day is with Bro. David playing duck duck goose with the kids. He is an awesome member from Nigeria. That was on Saturday. On the actual Pioneer Day....we took the kids to our friend Andreas house, and Steve and I went up to Heidelberg to go golfing and out to dinner in commemoration. We had an absolutely marvelous time, but we forgot the camera.
There are two other pictures of the boys just hanging out today. P.S. It is still HOT, the rain only helped for that one night!

Hot Days

So...we have been having some pretty hot days here, which it sounds like is the case all over the world. We have been in the 90's for a week, and the forecast says it will stay there for at least another week. And remember that is with no a/c, and our bedroom is on the third floor. Germany usually gets in the 90's for a couple of days, but then cools down to the 70's for a couple days. So, I don't know what is going on this year, we are not getting any break! Here are a couple of pictures of how we have been staying cool this week.(The swimming pictures are of a day we went with the Kirkhams.) Today we have just been relaxing at home. Steve is golfing with some friends of his, which is a great activity for him to do (after work of course). And our friends, the Roeckers are coming over to spend the night tonight! They have two kids, and are moving to Logan in the next couple of weeks. The movers took all of their stuff today, so they will stay with us tonight, ane then go to the hotel on post. So hopefully we will have a fun night of popcorn, and game playing.

Day's that start with S

So...as some of you may know, Steven is not really thrilled with his German Kindergarten. He complains about going most mornings, some mornings to the point of tears, and he has been going for a year now. So to clear some things up with him, I have told him that he goes to school everyday except for those days that start with an S (ie:Saturday and Sunday). Well, we were talking the other day about when Nathan will start Kindergarten, and I told him Nathan won't start until September. I am sure most of you see what's coming now. So Steven says Oh, and since I don't go to school on days that start with S, I don't have to go in SSSSSSSSSeptember. RIGHT??? Wow, what a brainy munipulative kid we have.

Hughes voices

So I had the boys help me when I was singing songs to them the other night, and this is what I got. I had a hard time figuring out how to get the videos on, but I found this website. The video is not good at all, but enjoy the audio. My little singers :) they are so cute! Just click on the box above and it will take you to the website.

Schwimmbad

Today was a busy day. This morning we went to Walmart, and the boys were well-behaved enough that they each got to pick a candy from the checkstand which was a real treat. Then we went to the Schwimmbad (swimming pool) for the birthday and had a great time. The pool really makes the heat more bearable. After the pool we got to go meet Nathan's new teachers at Steven's Kindergarten. We are going to start him in Kindergarten in Sept. and see how he does. I think it would be great for the boys to be in Kindergarten together. While we were there he had to choose a picture to represent which drawer was his, which coat rack was his and so on. His choices were a tree (baum) a cake (kuchen) and a moon (mond) and of course like mother like son, he chose the cake with a little candle on the top. Yum. He has been asking about going back to Kindergarten for the rest of the day, so hopefully he will still be excited in Sept. I just feel sorry for the teachers when they try to tell him what to do. Beacause 1. They are not his Mom or Dad and 2. Nathan does not like being told what to do.
Then for dinner Steve and I got ourselves a Doner (a turkish wrap thingy) which was very good.

Update

Everyone says I need to update the blog, but I just don't think they are any fun without pictures and I already sent pictures through email, so now I am left with nothing. :)
Today was a very nice day. Steven went to school and got to go swimming. And the little boys and I went to the park with our friends the Roeckers. We had a great time, and then came home for naps before it got too hot outside. It has been getting up close to 90 degrees with humidity quite often here, and there is no air-conditioning anywhere to get some relief. Not in the house, not in our car, not in stores, not in restaurants. It is crazy, and hot!
